Ok, mere days after trying to impress you with my knowledge of what a planer is and what board feet are, I cannot hang my fucking blinds. My walls seem to be made of a layer of stuff so crumbly screws just tear it up and then a layer of something my borrowed drill doesn't want to mess with. I tried putting wall anchors in but the layer of drill-stymie-ing stuff kind of put the kibosh on that plan. I want to hang my blinds! I want, you should pardon the image, to be able to walk around the apartment naked! I think I will ask the super about it tomorrow and see if he has any tips. Do you?

i've lived in many a brooklyn apt with this kind of fucked up wall. sometimes i've just given up. sometimes they're like that b/c they are brick or concrete that have been plastered over, so that masonry nails or those special non-bendable nails will work.

That's actually really exciting thanks. Not that I'll actually do it, because I doubt I remember enough and I don't know that I could draft a plan for anything, but it's nice to know it's out there.

We started walking around the apartment naked >first<. A week later, the blinds just magically appeared!
